From Text to Text: The Poet's Voice: a Reading at Craft Alliance Gallery at Grand Center

In conjunction with the exhibition Tim Curtis: See How My Mind Works at the Craft Alliance Gallery in the Kranzberg Arts Center, 501 N. Grand; the Poetry Center will host a free poetry reading (open-mic format, open to all poets) of poems written in response to the artist's work on March 6th at 1pm. Details on how to participate with your poetry will be posted here soon.  The exhibition opens on January 29 with a reception from 6-8pm and an artist's talk at 6pm.  "Be a Part of the Art" January 26 - January 29, come watch Tim Curtis and his crew create a site-specific installation.

St. Louis Poetry Center wants you to visit artist Tim Curtis’ “See How My Mind Works”, an installation that will blanket the gallery walls floor to ceiling with chalkboards of Tim’s internal dialogue: humorous, serious, or sarcastic. Then write a poem or poems that talk to the art, about the art, or in the light of the art.

Gallery Hours:
Wednesday – Saturday 12pm-6pm
Sunday 12pm-5pm Opening Reception:  January 29 6-8 pm;
Artist Talk 6pm

At the reading on March 6, each poet will have 5 minutes total for poem/poems and patter.  Time yourself ahead and be considerate of your fellow poets.  We will end at 3:00 sharp – or nearly sharp.
