Our Mission

Our passion for poetry guides us to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the infinite possibilities of the written word. We conduct workshops, contests, outreach programs and readings to promote poetry in the community.

The Center Will Hold - W.B. Yeats at Blueberry Hill, April 22

YeatsSt. Louis Poetry Center will host a benefit reading at Blueberry Hill’s Duck Room, 6504 Delmar Blvd., on Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m.  “The Center Will Hold” will feature the work of W. B. Yeats (1865 – 1939), who was awarded the Nobel Laureate in Literature in 1923, the first Irishman to be so honored.

Reading from his work that spanned a half century will be William Gass, Mary Ruth Donnelly, and others.

Tickets for the reading and champagne reception are $50. There will be a silent auction. For more information, call (314) 973-0616.  Watch our website for the option to purchase tickets online.

Guerra de la Paz - Open Mic Reading

Cuban-born Chicago-trained artists Guerra and Paz use discarded clothing and its patterns and colors entwined with the illusion of the game "follow the leader" to communicate their ideas. Visit this exhibition, write a poem in response, and then register to read your poem on Sunday, January 22, from 2-4 pm.

The exhibition is on display Wed - Sat, 12-6 pm, and Sun 12-5 pm.  (Closed Mondays, Tuesdays.) 

Both the exhibit and the reading are at Craft Alliance Grand Center in the Kranzberg Art Center building. Gallery phone 314-534-7528.
